In numerology there are several different numbers that a psychic typically calculates while working with you. Numerology is similar to astrology in that there are different aspects which impact your life and personality. Each of these numbers serves a different purpose and is calculated in a different way. The four numbers below are known as your “core” numbers, the four most commonly calculated and important numbers in the discipline of numerology.
Your Life Path Number
Numerologists calculate your life path number by working with your full date of birth. Your life path number can give you insight into the lessons that you are here on this earth to learn, do, and be. For example, a life path number of “three” says that your time here on earth will stress creative pursuits. This comes with strengths and weaknesses alike, of course, but that makes sense: we often are set to teaching and learning the same lessons at the same time when we come down to earth. That sounds counter-intuitive, but think about it: you may be learning to reject escapism, a weakness of your creativity, even as your unconventional methods and brilliant results teach others how to think outside of the box.
Your Expression Number
This number rules your physical strengths and weaknesses as well as your goals in life. Numerologists come up with this number by reducing your full name to a set of numbers. An expression number of “two,” for example, tells you that you are a natural-born diplomat who is able to handle difficult situations tactfully and persuasively. You may be the peacemaker in most of your relationships and you will tend to be open-minded and compassionate overall. However, you might grapple with assertiveness and need to be on guard against acting like a doormat.
Your Personality Number
Numerologists find your personality number by using only the consonants of your full name. This number relates to the face you show the world as well as to certain aspects of what you, yourself, believe to be your identity. For example, a personality number of “eight” indicates someone with a great deal of presence. An eight will present a very strong face to the outside world, but this person might also be a workaholic with an egotistical streak.
Your Gift Number
The day of your birth—that is, the actual day—gives you a special gift to use throughout your life. This number is also known as your birthday number. If your gift number is “five,” for example, you’ll have been gifted with an adaptable nature. Perhaps you will get plenty of opportunities to travel and see the world, or perhaps you simply assimilate new ideas and concepts very easily. Either way you have a flexibility that most people lack, one that allows you to be more tolerant of other people’s viewpoints.
Other Numbers
There are actually many other numerological traits encoded in your name and birth date. For example, your karmic number tells you what your karmic issue is in this life (which is separate from your purpose in that it is something to overcome), and your Hidden Passions number will rule what is most important to you. A skilled numerologist can help you learn these numbers and discover how they are impacting your life today. The numerologist can also help you understand and tackle issues and tendencies that might not have been wholly productive to date, tendencies you might not even have been entirely aware of but which will likely ring true when you hear them. If you can take the psychic’s advice in this regard you will typically find yourself achieving a happier, more balanced life.
